      <image:title>SONGS</image:title>
<image:caption>This song is for all the animals I’ve loved and outlived. But mostly it’s for Bonnie Blue. She was a wizard at escaping, and freedom is my wish for her.</image:caption>

      <image:title>SONGS</image:title>
<image:caption>Bonnie Blue was the horse I received on my 11th birthday. My first! She was not the first horse I rode or tried, but the instant I rode her, we had a connection that lasted our entire time together. She was a blue roan quarter horse from the King Ranch in Texas. She was just too short for their standards, so she was auctioned and moved to California. She was just green broke, so we learned how to work and ride together.</image:caption>

      <image:title>SONGS</image:title>
<image:caption>Based on the wonderful poem by Joy Harjo at Wayne Scott of Swan Lake First nation Reserve Of Manitoba Canada. I am trying to capture the way horses fill the life of a young girl as she grows from fantasy to experience. Even for girls who never get to own a horse, there are many horses that become “ours” at least in our dreams.</image:caption>

      <image:title>SONGS</image:title>
<image:caption>Before we got horses, my friends and I used to find and send postcards of wild horses to each other from wherever we were on vacation (we were ALL horse crazy). One of these was of a pinto stallion who in real life was a movie star named Dice. The Cisco Kid rode him. In lots of wild horse movies, he is the baddest of the bad, fighting the hero stallion for all the mares.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I have been fascinated with paleo-anthropology for my entire life. And I’ve been compelled to draw horses for just as long.
